On October 13, China Longyuan issued the Social Responsibility Report of Longyuan South Africa Renewables (hereinafter referred to as Report) on the centralized release meeting for the social responsibility reports of central enterprises sponsored by the SASAC of the State Council. Meanwhile, the case of Longyuan South Africa De Aar Wind Power Project named "Demonstrating the Responsibilities of the Chinese Enterprise and Strengthening the "Red Line" Against the Epidemic" was enlisted into the Blue Book on Overseas Social Responsibility of Central Enterprises (2020) as an outstanding overseas case of social responsibility fulfillment.

As revealed by the report, China Longyuan has been engaged in green power for ten years in South Africa since the research into the South African wind energy market in 2009, with its De Aar projetct put into operation in November 2017. The Company, by virtue of the unique local resources, made full use of its industrial and technological advantages and explored the energy cooperation featuring mutual benefits, mutual trust and common prosperity with partners, and has created more than 700 job opportunities during the construction period, and more than 100 long-term jobs every year during the operation period. Meanwhile, adhering to the principle of "overseas safety first, prevention priority and comprehensive treatment", the Company gave full play to its professional advantages in the field of wind power, insisted on compliance management according to relevant laws, controlled and prevented all kinds of risks, and completed the project development, construction and operation with high quality. As of 2019, the project has provided 1.69 billion KWH of clean electricity for the local communities.

While providing clean energy in South Africa, the Company also fulfilled its social responsibilities actively, and played an active role in promoting local employment, community welfare and people's livelihood, etc. For the "Student Aid · Dream Building · Talent Cultivation" activity developed, the Company allocates Rand 4 million to subsidize 40 outstanding local black college students; also, the Company funded and ran four early education centers in local communities, to which more than 320 local children needing help were admitted. The Company has set up community funds for targeted assistance. Each year, the Company would invest more than Rand 1 million to the local nursing homes, and sponsor the local residents to register the non-profit organizations to help the disabled people in the communities. As of 2019, the Company has invested about Rand 28 million into social activities for public good cumulatively, which has been highly praised by local governments, communities, hospitals and partners. Especially during the epidemic, the Company worked together with the government of South Africa, hospitals and communities, went all out to respond to challenges jointly, and made joint efforts to strengthen the "red line" against the epidemic in South Africa, which were highly praised by the Chinese Consulate General in Cape Town and the Premier of the Northern Cape Province. As an outstanding case of overseas social responsibility fulfillment, it was enlisted into the Blue Book on Overseas Social Responsibility of Central Enterprises (2020).

It is understood that a total of more than 300 representatives from 97 central enterprises, local state-owned assets and state-owned enterprises, mainstream media and other guests attended the centralized release meeting for the social responsibility reports of central enterprises, and published the Blue Book on Social Responsibility of Central Enterprises, Blue Book on Overseas Social Responsibility of Central Enterprises and Cases of Central Enterprises Concerning Fighting Against COVID-19.
